Biography
The Green Explorer, William Edward Strong, was born in Southampton, New York February 4th, 1965. He attended Walnut Hill School for the Performing Arts from 1982 through 1984 where he graduated with honors while receiving awards for theatre and visual arts. Attended S.U.N.Y Purchase from 1984 through 1988 where he graduated with the Presidents Award for Achievement in Visual Arts.
"With my wanderlust and visual arts background, working with found objects on the road seemed a natural fit for me. I started with all natural materials in Costa Rica, Brazil and Maui and moved into man-made materials in India where I realized if people started to make art from objects that ended up on beaches and roadsides, it could very well change consciousness while helping to save the planet. This has been my mission ever since!"
